Reminder - Call for applications: 2011-2012 CADR Student Research Awards

Applications are now solicited for the 2011 - 2012 Student Research Awards Competition. Two of the applicants will receive the IADR/Unilever Divisional Award and will represent Canada in the Hatton Awards Competition at the IADR meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2012. Applications require a 5-page, double-spaced manuscript describing the research project. Detailed information is posted here.

The deadline for applications is September 6, 2011.

Reminder - Call for applications: CADR-Quintessence Visiting Professorship

Applications are now solicited for the upcoming competition of the CADR-Quintessence-ACFD Visiting Professorship. The Visiting Professorship is awarded annually to a promising junior Canadian dental investigator. The purpose of the award is to promote collaboration and exchange of information among investigators at Canadian Dental Faculties.

Deadline for nominations is October 7, 2011.

Attend the "Closing the Gap Between Oral Health Research and Practice" workshop to be held at the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax, on Thursday Oct 27, 2011. We hope you will join us as we celebrate 10 years of research exploring the oral health of older adults in Nova Scotia.

Congratulations to Dr. Walter Siqueira for winning the 2011 CADR-Quintessence-ACFD Visiting Professorship.

Dr. Siqueira from the University of Western Ontario has won this year's award. He will visit the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry proteomics unit later this year.

Dr. Siqueira received his award in San Diego, California on March 17.

The CADR-IMHA Student Research Awards are cosponsored by the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR) and the Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA) of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Of the seven awards, five were presented to winners at the annual meeting of the CADR held in March in conjunction with meeting of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) in Washington, DC. Two of the seven winners received the IADR/Unilever Divisional Travel Award and represented Canada at the Hatton Award competitions during the recent meeting of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) in Barcelona, Spain.
